Explore the enchanting piazzas and fountains of Rome's historic city centre as you wander through serpentine streets and cobbled walkways in the company of an expert local guide. For centuries this was the meeting place of choice for the city's elites who came to mingle in the shadow of Bernini's brilliant Four Rivers Fountain and Borromini's no less impressive church of Sant'Agnese in Agone. In the area around the Spanish Steps meanwhile, walk in the footsteps of the great poets and painters of the past who ventured to Rome hoping to be inspired by the city’s artistic masterpieces and vivid colours. Today home to luxury shopping boutiques and a wondrous fountain by Bernini, in the 1800s this was the stomping ground of brilliant English writers like John Keats and Percy Shelley. 

Nearby you'll gaze up in awe at the majestic Trevi Fountain, a delight for all the senses as seagods and Tritons loom out of its deafening cascading waters. Visit the remarkable Pantheon, miraculously preserved testament to the engineering brilliance of the ancient Romans - find out how its giant columns were transported to Rome from as far away as Egypt, and discover the secrets behind its staggeringly large dome pierced by a central oculus - it's still the largest unsupported concrete dome ever built! If your Stroll of the Artists walking tour falls on a Sunday, when the Pantheon is closed to visitors, we will admire and learn all about the amazing edifice from a spectacular vantage point in the Piazza della Rotonda outside.
